The aim of this mod is to fix and repair the Pacify Perks (Animal Friend, Wasteland Whisperer and Intimidation) as well as making them more useful and rewarding in the process. In vanilla game you could only pacify targets below your level and only had a measly 40% chance to do so. Why even bother wasting valuable perk points to deal with opponents that are probably weaker than you, especally when the chances of it actually working is relatively low? (Sure, you might want to be a non-violent character without combat perks but the pure unreliability of pacify attemps makes it somewhat hard.)
What’s worse, after examining the pacify script, I am pretty sure that Black Widow/Lady Killer do not affect your chances at all, even though the perk descriptions tell they do. Ironically, this is a good thing because, the way it is set up, if they did affect it, THEY WOULD ACTUALLY DECREASE your chance to pacify!
I made the following changes:
- The base pacify chance was changed to 30 but is effectively increased by 5 for each rank for each of the 3 pacify perks. (Meaning the base chance is 75 if you have all ranks of all 3 perks.)
- 2nd and 3rd ranks of Black Widow/Lady Killer increase the chance by 5 and 10, respectively.
- The chance is also increased by an amount equal to your level while being lowered by the target’s level. Yes, you can now attemp to pacify targets whose levels are HIGHER than yours but it will negatively affect your chances. However, you will also have an easier time trying to pacify targets with lower level.
