Hailing from an age wrought in iron, the 4-Gauge Double-Barrel is a heavy black-powder shotgun, that makes it easy to source ammo for. Gauge sizing is based on how many lead balls equals to a pound; 12-Gauge has the diameter of a lead-ball that is 1/12th of a pound, while a 4-Gauge has the diameter of a lead-ball that is 1/4th of a pound.
It is originally designed for stopping large came in it’s tracks and to hunt waterfowls enmasse, on an era before proper gunpowder that increasing caliber size is the most common way to increase the power of a shot.
