I only uploaded this mod to Bethesda. The texture size is 2K. This mod changes:
- landscape
- grass
- trees
- lod

This is a texture set covering the landscape/nature textures to create a slightly greener wasteland, retaining a gritty desolate look. Which comes in a 2K & upscaled 4K version.
Some time ago I set out to create my own set of textures to put a bit more life into my wasteland wilderness. Not too much though, as I didn’t want to turn the place into a lush jungle, but wanted to retain a desolate look as much as possible. I checked a lot of the greener mods out there, but non suits my needs, either to much, or lacking (trees for example). So I set out to create my own.
These have all been up-scaled (x2), a lot where enhanced (sharper/clearer/bumpier/ etc). This means most 1K textures are now 2K and most 2K are now 4K. A few, like tree’s and the vines are available in 8K too (separately).
Most of the grass was left at their vanilla 1 & 2K size, as it only eats resources to use a higher res. for those. Many where changed for a greener look ranging from some specks of green and brown, to complete redraws.
Version 3 has been further enhanced and some (e.g:Fern & mossVines) where redone completely for even better results.
This time its even a bit less green and more brown (leaves), making it even more realistic and perfect for a fall kind a look as well.
Most of these where up-scaled using a mix of GIMP and the NoHalo interpolation, AI Upscaling using RealESRGAN (with the Cupscale GUI) & various models (mostly Misc_220000 & BSRGAN), modifications by hand and a high pass filter to finish it off.
My ‘Nature’ is supposed to be just hanging on to life, trying to survive. Like every other living thing in the commonwealth.
At least, that was the goal. Just like I wanted this to be a texture only mod.
I up-scaled some of the related SetDressing textures you will encounter too: rubble.
& of course the Terrain files with a modified Commonwealth.Objects texturemap, DetailNormals & Noise. As well as new LOD textures for the trees.
I tried to use or stay true to the original textures as much as possible.
The fern was swapped for a new better looking version (imho).
The Spanish Moss is brand new, next to the new leaves on the Maple & Elm trees and of course the (common) Ivy.

- Ground - some 2K & all 4K version

- Trees some 2K & all 4K version

LOD - 2K & 4K version
Please note that the 2K version only includes changed textures. As those that where only upscaled to 4K are obviously obsolete for the 2K version.
It only includes new normal & specular maps where needed (e.g.: added leaves)
As of version 2 it includes pre-war & institute textures.
It does not include any textures from the DLC’s. (I might check on those later)
The main download contains all textures, including LOD.
NOTE:
All previews where created using the “GeForce Experience” (RTX4090) optimized settings for Fallout 4, the nextgen version with ENB Series 0.501 & Reactor ENB, in a 3440x1440 resolution, downscaled to 1080 & cropped to 1920. So, results & colors may differ!

Future plans:
- Check the DLC’s plants & tree’s
- Maybe turn it into an .esp with .ba2 file, instead of ‘loose files’.
