Cat Companion Minka

Let a cat follow you or actively try to control it.

Pros

  1. Doesn’t use a companion slot, so it can tag along anybody

  2. You can control it (play it), given you have catfood

  3. You can scout areas as big as Diamond City out

  4. Is very silent (Has Sneak Perk 04 and additional silent skill)

  5. Call her from anywhere in the world by opening a can of Exclusive Cat Food

Cons

  1. Doesn’t have an inventory

  2. Does not attack

  3. Does not always do what you want, when trying to control her

  4. No huge backstory. She likes catfood and you have it.

  5. When dismissing her she might return to Concord (More infos below)

How to get her

  1. Go to a certain empy house in Concord and a quest will start

  2. Fill the cat bowl with regular cat food (Cook it or buy it from Myrna)

  3. Go away and return later

Giving her a home and dismissing her

Since the cat is not part of the Companion or Settlement system,
giving her a specific home is different

  1. Talk to the cat or open a can of Exclusive Cat Food for her to follow you
    This works from anywhere in the world. So if you’re at Croup Manor she will
    appear there even though she was residing at Concord.

  2. You can tell her to wait and she will sandbox at this location

  3. Tell her to go home and she will be in her Concord house

So with a combination of 1. and 2. you can easily set up a home for her, but may
need to open up expensive cat food at a regular basis.

Controlling the cat

  1. Through dialogue you can convince the cat to run around.
    You will be actively controlling the cat.

  2. The cat wants regular cat food in return

  3. She might just chill out a while

  4. To return to the player you need to draw your weapon or run very far away
