This mod supports DLC weapons and ammo, but does not require the DLC itself.
Momentum is a simple formula, Mass X Velocity. That’s how damage is calculated with this mod. Guns don’t cause damage, the rounds do.
Ballistic Features:
- Each ammo has it’s own damage value, the bigger and faster the round is, the more damage it does
- Automatics are much more deadly and realistic now
- Minigun/Gatling laser weight has been increased to add balance for the damage output
- Noise detection levels have been altered to be more realistic. Without silencers, larger guns will be louder.
- Stagger levels have been altered. Shotguns have the biggest stagger effect, rifles next, automatics and revolvers, followed by small pistols
Laser Features:
- Fusion cells have been unchanged
- Laser weapon damage output have been increased per weapon type instead. Muskets have the highest damage per shot, followed by rifles and then pistols. Automatics have the highest damage per second
- Laser weapons now have zero recoil, however they still maintain a cone of fire, it has been drastically reduced
Companions:
- Companion default weapons perform the same as the above
Enemies:
- All the changes here apply to the weapons used by enemies as well
Compatibility:
This mod will make damage perks useless, as they will work to increase damage on the weapons only, which is now 1. I will eventually make a separate mod to alter perks, but for now, I recommend using HEX Hardcore Perk Overhaul so weapon perks improve accuracy instead of damage.
This mod, and most mods that edit weapon records, tend to cause problems with weapon replacer mods. Having the replacer lower in the load order will revert the weapon to vanilla, and loading a mod like this below the replacer will break the weapon in game. There isn’t much that can be done about this, but I am always looking for an alternative to make it work.
Notes: Due to the design, weapon attachments will no longer increase or decrease damage output as intended. Damage output is far higher than vanilla, so it shouldn’t be an issue for most. All other changes from attachments will work fine. I will look into fixing this in future updates.
Mods Requiring a Patch:
Any mod adding weapons or custom ammo
Any weapon replacers
Any mod adding attachments that alter damage
Logical Load Order Placement: Below any mods that add weapons, but above any patches for them
