Thanks to the AMAZING DoubleYou for making the mod that fixes this for PC! Since Xbox users don’t have access to xEdit you can’t run this for yourselves, so I have uploaded the fixed files for you here. Please consider sending DoubleYou some love, and an endorsement over on Nexus if you found this helpful.
TL;DR: The game requires cubemaps to be the same, but in NG they are not which leads to all cubemaps breaking. This mod contains only the fixed files so they should all work again, including mods that were broken by this bug (guns, workshop objects, robots, lights, lots of mods were impacted). This means Codsworth won’t be black or dark, and other metals also will show appropriately. If you use Vault 88 Essentials this is required to get the vault pieces on the luxury set to look gold instead of dark or black.
