A small mod that modifies the Highway Road Concrete Textures to be darker and more asphalt-like.
I had this idea while I was working on Vehicle Overhaul Continued, which you can follow progress on by checking out my Media Tab. I’ve been using Roads Redone in my mod list for years at this point (specifically the Faded version), and I was curious how a darker set of road textures would look on the various highways that wind across the Commonwealth. Thus, this mod was born.
This is a fairly simple edit of the vanilla textures. The specific colors of the highway are based on the ones found in the Glowing Sea, which also has the side effect of helping to visually tie them together. I just recolored the original concrete textures using those borrowed colors, then ran a sharpness filter on it to make the cracks and grooves pop a tiny bit more. I’ve also included LOD textures, but I believe you need to regenerate your LOD before you see these new textures in game. I highly recommend using the faded version of Roads Redone, as these new highway textures compliment that mod very well.
Thank you to doodlum for creating Roads Redone, which was a major inspiration for this mod’s textures. And, of course, thank you to each and every single person reading this right now.
