Heavy, dramatic climates with post-apocalyptic weathers now plague every accessible region across the Commonwealth. From the nuclear overcasts of the Great War to the irradiated skies of the Glowing Sea to the gloomy marshes of The Island, the Commonwealth will never feel the same with these weathers.
DETAILS
This mod is the sequel to my similarly named Fallout New Vegas mod and marks the first time I’ve modified or created Fallout 4 weathers and climates. Some examples of my favorite weathers and conditions I chose to include are Glowing Sea radstorms, Nuka World sandstorms, Glowing Sea overcasts, Glowing Sea fog, nuclear overcasts, Appalachian quantum storms, The Island misty fog, and polluted overcasts. There are admittedly plenty of weather mods for Fallout 4 that feature polluted, dusty, or irradiated weathers, the thing is…a lot of those mods either use only a single weather, heavily deviate from the vanilla weathers, or make unnecessary changes to the game world. This mod is more focused on a vanilla aesthetic and is heavily inspired by weathers seen in other Fallout games.
FEATURES
Post-war themed weathers in every climate across every region of the Commonwealth. Many of these new weathers constantly worsen visibility and traveling conditions no matter what region you explore. This means clear skies will probably never occur again. Some days can be scorching orange while others are filled with hazy winds and bleak overcasts. This combination of haze, winds, storms, and fog can give the Commonwealth a grim atmosphere. Weathers seen in the Glowing Sea, Nuka World, The Island, or Pre-War Sanctuary have a chance to override any climate of the Commonwealth and surrounding regions. Additional features include optimized fog visibility, wind and gust sounds, fog and storm screen effects, and decreased distant blur for each post nuclear weather. Radstorms and quantum storms have the chance to use unique variants with different color combinations. In contrast to the rest of the more dramatic weathers, Commonwealth climates have the chance to use polluted weather and pre-war nuked weather (which both feature hazy horizons and partially clear skies).
INSTALLATION
Install the latest main file. For manual installation, extract the file to your game’s data folder. For a mod manager installation, install the file with your preferred mod manager.
