Unlike their prewar ancestor, the Deer Tick, Goremites have heavily mutated to be far larger and more aggressive. Instead of sucking blood, they evolved to tear apart their victims, ripping flesh and bone with their sharp, jagged mandibles. Despite the danger, some Wastelanders risk hunting them for their blood, which, when properly prepared, possesses a unique flavor prized in certain recipes.
You can find the Goremites around the Commonwealth at any level, but more commonly in the marshes and the border of the Glowing Sea. A unique variant, the Nukamite, can only be found in Nuka World near the Nuka World Red Rocket. They have several variants.
Goremites drop a new type of meat and Goremite Blood. Both of which can be made into new consumables at the workbench, such as the Rad Mary Cocktail or Bloodcake. Each consumable also has a unique Nukamite version.
Additionally, both Mounted Goremite and Nukamite heads can be crafted in the workshop.
