Adds an interactive physics based mortar into Fallout 4’s Workshop mode.
Required mod:
Remote Explosives - C4 With Detonators And More (Xbox)
Recommended mod:
Bullet Time for Xbox One
Where to craft:
FURNITURE > MISCELLANEOUS.
How to Use:
First place the mortar, as well as craft the mortar lock and a mortar projectile.
Next you will have to aim the mortar using the mortar lock. The mortars barrel should spawn facing upwards, this is to allow you to place the mortar lock within the mortars locking detents. Allowing you to aim the mortars vertical trajectory. Pick the appropriate locking detents on the mortar and then slide the mortar lock through. (An easier method is to just craft the mortar lock though the locking detents). Once the mortar lock is in place, you will then need to slap the mortars barrel down using any physics object.
Once you have aimed the mortars vertical trajectory, you can then aim its rotation. To do this get a physics object, such as a dropped gun etc. And push the physics object into the mortar lock. As the mortar lock is now locked into the mortar itself, this should rotate the whole mortar, helping you aim.
Next you want to craft some remote explosives using the remote explosives mod. I recommend one detonator and just a bunch of C-4 plastic explosives. The C-4 plastic explosives aren’t necessarily used to propel the mortars projectile, but instead intended to detonate it.
Next you will need to throw a bunch of standard vanilla in-game frag mines into the mortars barrel. I recommend about 5-10 (depending on how high of a vertical trajectory you chose you may need to craft a platform to reach the barrel).
Once you have shoved a bunch of mines into the mortars barrel, you will then need to shove one C-4 plastic explosive into the barrel.
Once the C-4 is loaded, you then finally need to load the mortars projectile by picking it up and slotting it in to the barrel.
Then simply stand back and using the crafted detorator, explode the mortar. The combination of the explosion/frictionless barrel should propel the mortars projectile.
Note:
If you saved before the detonation and find when you load the game up, all the mines have fallen on the floor out of the barrel, I find simply loading up the save again seems to fix this.
If you want to see the mortars explosion in slow-mo I would recommend the Bullet Time - Slow Time mod.
