Porter’s Note: From my limited testing this doesn’t cause any NPC stutter.
Directs Graygarden to spawn Handy Bots (instead of regular settlers) when a recruitment beacon is placed.
Per request by BlazeStryker, Graygarden Spawns Handy Bots reconfigures the settlement so that, upon claiming the workshop and placing a recruitment beacon, the settlement will spawn additional worker bots instead of regular settlers. The rationale is that, once Graygarden is added to your settlement network, Supervisors Brown, Green, and White will need additional workers in order to meet the increased demand, as well as replacements for the inevitable losses resulting from more frequent settlement attacks. So, the head canon is that they are building these new workers rather than summoning them from the wilderness.
These new worker bots are identical to the vanilla worker bots and, therefore, have the same limitations, detailed as follows:
They have no voices, using beeps and boops instead.
They count toward the settlement population.
They cannot be moved to other settlements or be assigned to provisioner duty. Note that, although they are set up to auto-assign to untended crops, they can be assigned to defense posts instead, if desired (see screen shots).
They are “mortal” and can be destroyed during settlement attacks.
Note: These new bots lack the farming animations associated with the vanilla robots, so they will merely hover in place when so assigned (just as happens with Automatron robots and most robot settlers introduced by other mods). Therefore, I strongly recommend using SKK’s Idle Handy Farmers, as it allows these new bots to use the proper animations (see screen shots).
Compatibility
This mod should be compatible with anything that doesn’t alter Graygarden’s workshop record.
