Have you always found it tedious to fill the two MAJOR holes in the walls of The Castle? Or maybe you just want to have truly rebuilt castle walls on what was once the glorious headquarters of the Minutemen? Jealous that xbox and pc users can enjoy it but you can’t? Well, now you can finally have it on PS too!
This mod fixes the walls of The Castle with walls that actually match the original walls, while also cleaning the whole castle up without touching any quest-related items and markers. Unfortunately, I can’t remove the two big piles of dirt/rubble due to sony’s restrictions and limitations, so you must be a bit creative there. I may put something there to cover it up later but please don’t get your hopes up.
Noticeable changes besides the fixed walls:
- An outer “wall”.
- A dock with an included boat.
- A concrete radio station in the middle of The Castle courtyard where the old run-down vanilla shack version was before.
- Windows and doors.
- The diner just outside of The Castle’s main entrance, Ivan’s Diner, has been fixed up.
- Now removable table, shelf, tesla trap, and ammo boxes in the armory.
- Fully functional armory that can open and close after getting into the armory (for now it can only be opened and closed by the red button INSIDE the armory, unfortunately). If this doesn’t work for you, then you probably have a mod that edits the door or the red button.
For those who don’t want to join the Minutemen:
- The door to the armory can be opened without the Minutemen quest Old Guns, but you will need to glitch through the door so that you can press the red button (the button has been set to always work now). The way to do this is by first going into workshop mode and set down a rug by a ledge so that half of it sticks out in the air. Put down a bench with the long end just on the part of the rug that hangs out in the air. When you move the rug the bench should now move with it without being highlighted in green. Put the rug down so that the bench is inside the wall but not all the way through so that you can press to sit down on it. When sat down on the bench you will have been glitched through and be inside the armory. (DO NOT DO THIS if you’re planning to side with the Minutemen and complete Old Guns, as I am pretty sure it will break the quest). Sorry that it have to be like this, but I can’t figure out a better way that doesn’t ruin the armory for those that play with the Minutemen:(
Note: The queen spawns in a bit of an awkward place given the exterior raised wall, but spawns in about the same place as before, when enough mirelurk eggs have been destroyed/mirelurk spawns have been killed.
================READ THIS ABOUT DOWNLOADING================
Doesn’t matter if it is downloaded before Taking Independence and Old Guns or after. Just make sure you are far away from The Castle when downloading this mod (probably a good idea to remove any placed stuff too).
Place it close to the bottom.
Probably isn’t compatible with any other mods that touch The Castle.
May not be compatible with mods such as sts. I haven’t tested it yet though (it’s better to not have such mods downloaded and enabled anyways, since they break/can break so many precombines and previs)
Tip: During Old Guns Ronnie Shaw may bug out and won’t go down to the tunnels but will still say dialogues as if she were down there. A way to fix this is to remove the rubble from the tunnel door BEFORE she prompts you to remove it. If you do this another dialogue will play out and she will go down. This is a vanilla bug and there is sadly nothing I can do about it.
You can either travel away from The Castle and wait a minimum of 24 to 48 in-game hours after having unlocked the settlement/killed the queen for it to be clean of mud and other mirelurk stuff.. or you can remove it yourself via the workshop thanks to this mod!

- The boat being able to take you somewhere like Far Harbor or Spectacle Island.
