Tired of falling over suits of Power Armor all the time? Hated how easy it is to get your hands on the most powerful armor in the game - the X-01 Power Armor? And especially the lore-breaking aspect of it?! Then look no further than here!
This is a revised version of ProgmanX’s mod “Some Assembly Required” where I have incorporated Vroeteldoos’s mod “Broken T-45 on Concord Museum Rooftop” and minor changes/fixes by me.
First I want to make it clear that if you give it a low rating then contact me so that I can fix whatever it is that makes you discontent with the mod. I cannot fix it or change it if I don’t know it’s broken.
What this mod does:
- Manually disables every non-unique Power Armor spawn location from the base game and DLCs and replaces them with boss trunks, chems, weapons, ammo, and explosives. Basically, wherever you used to find a set of Power Armor, you’ll find a supply cache.
- Scatters Raider, T-45 and T-51 pieces all across the Commonwealth. Interiors, Exteriors, underwater, you name it! Encourages better looting and observation! Many areas where a full frame spawned now have one or two pieces of power armor (without a Power Armor frame). Military Bases, Bunkers, and facilities relatively untouched since the Great War are good places to start looking, along with locations of great faction importance/high population.
- Hand-places exactly one set of X-01 pieces across the Commonwealth in very odd places! Locations for these will be listed at the bottom of the page as well as the only one whole set of non-unique X-01.
- Sets what few Power Armor spawns remain to Raider or T-45 (depending on the enemies who use it), and ensures that they do not respawn when the cell resets. So, you’ll still have boss enemies in Power Armor. Boss Enemies that spawn in Power Armor, as opposed to entering it when the fighting starts, are unaltered and will respawn when the cell resets!
- Makes it so that the only way to acquire the T-60 is to join the Brotherhood of Steel (you could murder/steal it from then) or buy it from the Atom Cats.
- Swaps Danse’s Post Blind Betrayal X-01 Mk. II Power Armor for a non-BOS T-60 (changed it to a model d so that Danse would get about the same resistances as he would get with the X-01).
- Adds a Broken T-45 that cannot be upgraded or repaired on the top of the Museum where you save Preston. But unlike other Power Armors, this one can be scrapped via workshop for materials.
- Disables the Power Armor spawn locations in Nuka-World that the original missed.
- Fixes/removes unnecessary edits the original made as well as cleaned it with FO4Edit.
Disclaimers:
None of the unique Power Armor pieces/sets in the base game or DLCs have been edited whatsoever, so you can still get them where you normally would find them.
Vanilla Power Armor stats and repair requirements are not edited whatsoever.
Already spawned in Power Armor will persist until the cell resets if downloaded mid-playthrough (if you have collected Power Armor then they will remain).
Remember; Power Armor Frames can be bought from some vendors! (This is a vanilla feature. If you can’t buy it, then it is another mod that is at fault.)
This mod is a part of another mod of mine called Immersive Power Armor Changes. Check it out!
