Simply grants shops a reasonable amount of caps (between 500 and 3000), akin to earlier Bethesda games.
All vendors, caravan merchants, and settlement shops will now have extra caps to buy goods. Works with and without DLCs. ESP flagged ESL.
WARNING: This mod won’t work correctly on existing saves! So please, have a little mercy on the rating! There’s genuinely no way I can fix it since that’s just how merchants work! You need to start a new game, or merchants will stay dirt poor until their inventory resets. Thank you for understanding! =)
Anyway, I sincerely loathed going to 10 different merchants because Bethesda thought 50-300 caps per merchant was a good idea, when one piece of Legendary gear or upgraded weapons easily cost upwards of 500 caps. This is a tiny fraction of what earlier games had. Now you can expect merchants to have 500-3000 caps.
I haven’t tested existing saves but this should work best on a new game. Merchant inventories/caps take a long time to reset.
Compatibility details:
- I used the minimal amount of edits: the “LL_CaravanUpgradeX,” “LL_CapsVendor_X,” and “LL_CapsWorkshopVendorX” leveled lists. These specifically control all merchants’ bottle caps, and from what I have tested covers every merchant in the game with exceptions for ones designed to be poor (i.e. Takahashi in DC).
- Mods adding items into level lists likely wouldn’t touch the same lists as my mod, so it should work with any mod that don’t serve the same purpose as mine.
- DLCs aren’t required, but will work if you have them since DLC merchants use the same level lists for caps.
- Mod-added vendors will work assuming they reference the vanilla vendor lists for their caps.
Enjoy! =)
