Dogmeat now has his name.
Not by request. You gave him the best life from what he grew up with, Matt.
We love you, man.
Renames Dogmeat to Dom and has a dedication in the help files.
NOTES
If you are starting a new game, this mod does not make changes to “Dog” at the beginning of the game. The player will still have to talk to Mama Murphy to learn what she calls him. Afterwards, Dogmeat’s text name is changed.
If installing on a current play-through, make sure you’ve talked to Mama Murphy to learn Dogmeat’s name, otherwise he will remain named “Dog”. Dismiss Dogmeat prior to enabling.
Use a test character to test first prior to enabling on your main save.

DogmeatFindHostile - “Dom found an enemy.”
DogmeatFindItem - “Dom found something.”
DogmeatNameMSG - “Dom”
DogmeatQuestFindFailed - “Dom didn’t find anything.”
FollowersDogmeatCompanionDismissMessage - “Dom is going to ….”
TutorialCommandDogmeatMessage_OLD - “Press [Activate] to have Dom move, attack, or collect items.”
HelpDogmeat - dedication is private and just for you - look in-game under pause menu > Help > Dogmeat.

Put it low in your order with your other quest mods, below any mods that make any changes to Dogmeat or When Freedom Calls quest.

Do not use with mods that modify the popup messages for Dogmeat.
This is a simple re-namer created to be as conflict-free as possible. This mod does not edit Dogmeat’s NPC entry or race. It also makes no changes to any sound files, quest text (other than the above), or graphics so it should be compatible with most mods and is available to both consoles.
